About Echo Environmental Inc.

We are an environmental consulting company operating out of Medicine Hat, Alberta with employees located in each of the three prairie provinces. We provide environmental and reclamation consulting services to a number of companies in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Echo Environmental Inc. was established in 1996. Echo keeps a current Small Employer Certificate of Recignition (SECOR) with the WCB.
Echo Environmental provides a wide variety of environmental services to the oil and gas and the industrial secor. Please see the SERVICES tab for more information regarding the services which we provide.

The Team

Jim Fairgrieve - President/Owner

Jim has been recognized as a Professional Agrologist since 1991, after graduating from the Universityof Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, with a major in Soil Science and minor in Crop Science. Prior to the establishment of Echo Environmental, he worked for the Province of Alberta as a Land Resource Agrologist with Public Lands in Fairview. The duties of this job consisted ofmanaging both agricultural and industrial activities on Alberta's public land. Upon leaving Fairview, Jim moved into a position as an Environmental Inspector with Alberta Environment Protection in Medicine Hat. This job focused mainly on issuing Reclamation Certificates on well sites and associated facilities. Jim has been a corporate member of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association since 2003 and attends conferences and workshops with his team to stay up to date on the most current industry practices and to network with other members of the CLRA.

Lisa Groves - Senior Consultant

Lisa was raised in West Central Saskatchewan on a family cattle operation and community pasture, and now resides on her own family ranch near Cadogan, AB where she and her family raise, train, and promote registered AQHA performance horses. Lisa completed her Diploma in Land Resource Management, Land Classification and Reclamation at Olds College, and has the designation of Registered Technologist, through the Alberta Institute of Agrologists. With over 20 years of experience in the agriculture and oil/gas sectors, Lisa has a vast knowledge of the industries that she represents, and a solid understanding of how to meet the balance between both industries, when it comes to reclamation. Having grown up on a community pasture, and having deep family roots in the Grasslands National Park where her ancestors homesteaded, Lisa has a strong interest in preserving and restoring native grassland sites that she works within. Lisa has been a contract employee of Echo Environmental Inc., since 2009, focusing mainly on working for Echo clients in East Central / Central Alberta.

Vanessa Linowski - Intermediate Consultant

Vanessa was born and raised in Southern Alberta. She graduated from with a diploma in Renewable Resource Management Lethbridge Community College in 2010, and returned to Medicine Hat College where she completed her Reclamation Technician Diploma as well in 2013. Vanessa has lots of experience working with plants, as she has worked previous jobs in gardening and herbicide application. She has also been involved with surveying rare plants for Environment Canada. In 2012 Vanessa started working with Echo Environmental, where she has become experienced in reclamation programs in the grasslands of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

    Jennifer Harrison - Junior Consultant

Jennifer Harrison was born in Edmonton Alberta. In 2015 she moved to Medicine Hat and enrolled in the Environmental Reclamation Technician program at the Medicine Hat College. She started working with Echo Environmental Inc. the summer after she graduated in 2017. She has been learning and growing with our team ever since.
